On a dreary, drizzly Oakland evening, the 2nd annual Bacon Tuesday sponsored by Jeff Francoeur went down, all stemming from Frenchy tossing a baseball wrapped in a $100 bill to be used for the purchase of pork products last season.
I think I can now officially forgive Jeff Francoeur for his past OBP transgressions and freely admit that I am a rabid Francoeur supporter. Click through for the whole video.
This is a most awesome story, even (maybe) if you don’t like baseball. Backstory is that the Oakland fans are incredibly upbeat and supportive, even though beleaguered by the team threatening to move, a lousy stadium set up, and a non-contending team year after year. Also, multicultural. Coda to the story is Francouer bought them all bacon pizzas Wednesday during a tedious and stadium-clearing rain delay.
